Easter Hunt

This week we have enjoyed having an Easter hunt around the classroom. The children enjoyed following the clues and working as a team to find all of the eggs, They then decided to have their own Easter egg hunt and wrote some of their own clues. I was very impressed with their team work and how they all helped each other when they came to a tricky word. Well done Reception. Have a great Easter!

Science Week

This week in RE we have enjoyed learning about our senses. On Friday we spent time exploring our sense of touch. The children put their hands in different materials and described how they felt and how they were different to each other.

We also had a big celebration as we had 100% attendance this week. Well done everyone. What a fabulous week.

Dear parents and carers,

Allerton CE Primary is closed today due to the severe weather conditions making it unsafe for pupils and staff to travel to school. The current email system (we think) is experiencing overload with lots of schools using the same method and therefore not sending messages properly. Please pass this information on to any other parents who you have the phone numbers of to tell them school is closed.

We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause .

Miss Edwards

This week the children have been thinking about how we are all unique and different. On Monday we came to school wearing odd socks. We talked about how that made us feel and what types of things can make us unique. We then learnt the chorus of a Cbeebies song about how it is good to be us.

Bonfire night

We have been very busy this week in RE looking at bonfire night and how to stay safe during the weekend. We had our own fire pit and the children learnt some fire safety rules. We have also been looking at the story Pumpkin Soup. We went into the cafe and made our own yummy soup. The children said it was scrumptious! And finally, we enjoyed our first story cafe where we looked at the story Kitchen Disco and invited our family in to join in with some of our exciting activities. What a busy week.

This week in Reception we have been looking at Diwali. We had a Diwali celebration day on Friday. We had lots of fun trying some Indian food, having a go at Bollywood dancing and making our own Diva lamps. The children now know the story of Rama and Sita. Why don’t you ask them what happened and how Rama and Sita found their way home?

Have a fantastic half term and great ready for some pumpkin fun the first week back.
